I think found the wedding gown but...?

Hi I recently got enagaged to an incredible man. Now I'm busy making plans and of course looking for that perfect dress. Which of course I think I found. But my mother merely shrugged when I showed her the dress and so did my fiancee. (Although for him it's more of the fact that he actually needs to see me in it to get an idea) With my short red hair and gentle curves I think it would fit me well. I don't know why I'm looking for their approval is this normal? Now the fact that I believe I actually found the perfect dress is a miracle because quite frankly I'm extremely indecisive.
